Dr. Strange sling ring

The project files are organized into folders for easier printing and navigation. For that reason, stl file preview is turned off.

Someone posted a new sling ring from the upcoming Deadpool/Wolverine movie, which appeared to be close to the one Dr. Strange uses. So it was a perfect excuse to make the one from Dr. Strange first just to see how well the new one compares.

If you wonder about this project, nothing about it is random.

The references I used were from an auction site that has the official prop that was used by Benedict Cumberbatch in the movie, and was donated by Cumberbatch to a charity auction, so the references are as close to the real deal as I get.

While working on it and trying to compare with what's available out there, I have noticed that the shape of the ring is rather unique, not just a slope on the sides, so I did my best to recreate that.

The details were also attempted to be recreated as closely as possible , and by no means this is a 1:1 exact copy, it would be foolish to say it is, buuuut it is the closest 3d model to the screen used replica that is currently available ( at least to my knowledge) .

As a comparison I have also added a photo vs reference photo, just to show you how close it is to the real deal :) As i said it is not 100% perfect, also it is not rendered at the same angle and focal length/distance or lightning conditions so some parts look different, but yeah, thought you'd might like the "wich is wich" game :D

Also due to extensive details, it is best suited for resin printing. You can also print it with a filament printer, but 0,08 or 0,1 layer height is recommended :) The idea was for the resin printer to be able to catch all the scratches and details so all you are left to do is a dry brush or apply any other "weathering" technique of your choice :)
